You're missing the point.

No, you can buy any product from any country you want, I couldn't care less.

But you can't go around buying Chinese goods everywhere, inturn sending our AUD overseas to Chinese banks. China doesn't use AUD in China. They can't do anything with them. So what do you expect them to do? Just keep accumulating paper money?

The Chinese have two options to spend AUD they accumulate from us buying their goods.

1. Buy up Australian government/corporate debt.
2. Buy up Australian businesses.

That's it.
