When you buy a second hand iPhone, are you supporting Apple's bottom line? No, not really.
Same in this case, you are not actually making a difference. Ethical investing technically does not have a place in the secondary market.
Once the company has the funds at IPO or a CR, its all systems go. Let's be honest.
You are not helping the environment or helping socially, because you are not providing the funds to help the company to help the planet or people. The initial investors are. You can say you care, but you know damn well by doing buying NHL shares, you are not making a difference in an ethical sense. You are here to secure a good ROI, simple as that. You are not saving the planet. Go plant a tree or feed some of the homeless people out there if you want to actually make a difference.
Either way, great company, great cause.
