Ah the old post hoc argument only gets you so far. "Post hoc ergo proctor hoc"The notion that because night follows day night must be caused by day.

In this case because buying the second hand iPhone doesn't help Apples cause meaning all secondary markets are detached from primary markets...

    I put it like this..

If many people want to buy shares in a certain company at a certain time (more than sellers wanting to sell)the price goes up.

Having a higher share price is a desirable thing for a company, (even moreso for the shareholders).
But for the company itself it can then raise capital if it needs at a higher price (as we have just seen this time 6.2c, last time 1c) but it is also in a stronger position to defend itself against aggressive takeovers or some forms of manipulation and a higher MC is a good starting point going into discussions with prospective partners.

So by purchasing shares in NHL at any stage you are making a positive albeit small support of the company.

I agree if you want to save the planet (and your budget, turn the lights off and consume/purchase less crap you don't need, recycle, plant trees etc).
There are a thousand more important things one could do...

But Im still not going out buying shares in companies making munitions that end up in third world countries propping up one nut job against another while the people there get blasted.

Or buying shares in Adani. Ok Queensland needs jobs, but who else gets the feeling that Adani will end up the beneficiary of Australian Government handouts and end up going broke anyway. Something about that deal looks really shaky/dodgy to me and its not the greens shaking the tree, something about it really has a dodgy feel to it.

Anyway onwards and upwards for NHL!
