The mine visit was indeed worth the trip alone. We took plenty of photos and got to see excavators in operation from about 30m away. Without that I many not have attended but as the company said at the AGM, they wanted to give back something to Westport and show their appreciation. The Mayor was at the meeting as was the CEO of Buller council. Hopefully the meeting vid will be up on the company website soon.
