I think ‘shooting the messenger’ is an appropriate term in this situation.
The tendency to do so is an unfortunate part of human nature...Human nature again I think....
They definitely do have a choice, but many have an aversion to locking in a loss, even those who think it will fall further.
Many won’t be able to escape the ‘if I sell it could rocket back to $5 and I’d be kicking my lack of faith’ mentality....
