I agree. You can't blame the kid for her passion and it isn't her fault the world has gravitated to her. I think people are simply looking for a leader who will take action and whilst Greta probably hasn't wanted the title she has been pushed into this position simply for being outspoken.
I didn't like the aggressive blaming and name calling but when you understand aspergers you can cut her some slack. I just hope she isn't put up on a pedestal and used as a scapegoat later.
Whilst I certainly am not convinced on the effect of humans on climate change, to not accept that climate can change catastrophically is foolhardy. If humans can negatively effect the climate even in a small way then the focus should be how we can positively effect it in a big way or at least make preparation for potential events.
The denier vs alarmist debate is a silly moot one imo. When any person or side is attacked the instant reaction is to defend. This means that both sides simply dig their heels in and winning a point is more important than addressing the problem.
