I agree a takeover bid at 18 cents would get ready acceptance from the punters like me who have been charging in at 10 and 11 ....but that represents at most 20% of the register .
You provided a helpful shareholder analysis a few weeks ago ...13 significant, unassociated shareholders including Perennial with from memory 68% of the share register . Let's now remove Perennial's 6% .
I suggest that all of these 12 shareholders are long at prices above 20 cents and whilst some are there for the now dubious value in Nifty copper I cannot see them accepting 18 cents . yes some of them may have sold at recent prices ...which must explain some of the very high MLX share turnover but those that remain must be influenced - like you- in the residual value in the Renison asset .
I dont think a bid at 30 cents would succeed either.
