Please correct me if I am wrong but I believe that whilst WPL are operator they are only have a minority 35% voting right in the JV.
If Cairn and FAR (or Petrosen) did not like the idea of anything put forward then they could easily vote any proposal from WPL down.
In fact to get the FPSO purchase approved then at least one of either FAR or CNE had to agree to this. As WPL and Petrosen don't have the voting % between them.
