Hmmm... something's going on
I rang the office yesterday asking for JW to talk about Galoc and was told that she was in Singapore.
CEO rang me back to explain about Galoc; sounds like operator, PNOC is not communicating well. Jocot di Dios mentioned disconnecting for the typhoons, the replaced riser and said they were now looking at the umbilical (I hope he didn't mean they were naval gazing!).
It doesn't sound like the PNOC talks to NDO very often! When asked if there were any issues we should be concerned about causing the delay, he said no. Just typical start-up delays.
CEO mentioned that they were currently talking potential joint venture partners. Is this the reason for JW & CEO trip to Singers? To finalise the deal?
He also confirmed that they will spud SC54 first week of September, and confirmed, yes next week!
Told him I'd call back next week if there was no first-oil by then.
