I can accept that - but, that doesn't make it right ---- they must have had a reason to searh him - apparently someone said it was NSW detectives

so - why not get this done before? - why on federal property?

he may have had some watch on him that triggered at the airport - but, it seems strange that for something like this you would wait for that - unless you were mucking around with the powers -

which is what should not be done.

I remember in Germany that if you had any traffic fines - they got foreigners at the airport - so, something like - if you had flicked a speed camera - then, it came up as you exited the country

those sorts of things are very dangerous - once in place, if the wrong mob get in they can be instantly used for major power abuses - political rivals - god knows what

we cannot know or control in advance who comes into power in the future - but, we can limit tools at any time in present -

this has a dreadful smell about it.

Duttons changes are even more scary - everyone should read how things were changed in policing before WW2 -- and, learn from it.

We have been on the slippery slope here for years - I don't know how long - but, Jo B Petersen certainly got off to a big start with it - and the laws he changed as far as I know are still on the books

that's what happens - you write laws that 'can' abuse - and, even if no one uses them - they just sit there waiting for some power fool to come along and they don't have to change laws - the laws are there waiting for them - it's really scary stuff
