I to have been burnt by the covered call in the past.....NEVER AGAIN!
I #$%#$% a ten year track record of great profits when the a major move took me out.

The reason your aluding to is the EXACT reason i dont do it...unlimited downside for very limited upside...now don't get me wrong i have made great returns using covered call as well, BUT i like to make the equity curve ( stress curve) as smooth as possible...plus you get all caught up in the options expiry junk.

If you like covered calls do calender spreads...the same credit, but...signif less downside risk
