PatentScope doesn't appear to be simply an opinion document, it looks to be a LexisNexis of global patent applications and submissions under the PCT. It seems to be generated through patent office submissions.

I understand that XYZ brand name organisation is attached to BGT. Which if you look at the history of spec companies who do this end up not really amounting to anything. I think it shouldn't be too difficult for the company to actually to challenge the veracity of the claims in that document if it's a non issue?

Definitely would put a dot in it and put shareholders at ease. Whenever there is a patent submission failure, big big red flag until it's resolved. A do not touch until completely cleared up IMO.
