More modern Bibles use expressions like ''their whole array'' rather than host.-- Jerusalem Bible. That it could not be referring to angels is made clear by what is said in the book of Job. Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? --- K J B.
Angels were there singing and shouting for joy when God ''laid the foundations of the earth''. Jesus was no doubt there among them.
