You may want to read the instructions for the washing machine.
I found that with mine, you select a wash program and it comes up showing long was cycle but can adjust to shorter cycle. ie for cottons it comes up as 3 hrs 45 mins, but can adjust down to 1 hr 40 mins. Also can select quick was 18 mins
When my old top loaded was starting to play up I decided front loader was way to go, use less water an clean better. Mine also has a refresh function that you can use for dry clean only clothes, had some jackets that need leaning and they come up good as new after putting them through that function a couple of times
