Claws, I'm a retailer myself, willing to buy by the pallet and with a phone call to a couple of mates we could buy "a truck load".
But I can't buy anywhere near the price the same manufacturer will deliver half a pallet to An Individual Woollies Store.
Remember, I would have to pay the manufacturer COD, Wollies pays "eventually". At the checkout I get loyalty points and free credit card use. (Cost to W) The manufacturer must pay for this, display space and advertising. Wollies would insist on their retail margin which would put the manufacturers real selling price at less than half that they insist is the rock bottom possible price they could sell to me.
