Hi Obe Wan. I work on a process facility with a 1500kg/hr sulphuric acid fusion kiln. It is 35m long and is driven by a 75 kW motor. The offgas line fan is 55kW and the spent fuel extract fan is 30 kW, so only 120kW per ton treated for the acid fusion step. We use diesel as the fuel. The rest of the process is of similar power consumption, mainly pumps and a few small electric driers/agitators etc. I remember when I used to work in the interior of the DRC, it cost $1 per litre to fly fuel in because the road network was not good enough to guarantee delivery. Yes DRC does produce oil but its in the gulf and is either refined on the west coast or exported as crude.
