You know I probably had too many vinos the night I saw the following diagram (released back in Sep 18). This apparent reduction in scalability of not hooking up 1024 devices....I honestly thought that behind all the serious design and engineering stuff going on, Peter had this dream of taking the Co on an adventure beyond the honey bee and higher into the animal kingdom. It was in May 18 that Intel went public stating that in a multi chip system by 2019 Loihi would be as smart as a mouse.

Anyway I digress,

PVDM certainly threw this whole idea out the other day when asked "what sort of animal is Akida?"
Remember he said
"To say that today’s neural networks exhibit the intelligence of a honeybee is a blatant exaggeration. "



So who knows, maybe this whole idea of 1024 chips being hooked up was more to do with outgunning Intel in a neuron race.
