NMDC, India’s largest iron ore miner and exporter in public sector, is setting up a 3 MTPA capacity greenfield Integrated Steel Plant based on HiSmelt technology at Nagarnar on outskirts of Jagdalpur with an estimated outlay of Rs 20,000 crore.

We’ve noted increased interest in an iron making process known as HiSmelt, which appears to have been recently resurrected in China.

Did NMDC was on board to safeguard HiSmelt tech , of fear that NLC alone MAYBE become a front runner with Matmor tech.????
Maybe NOT , but I can't stop thinking that is a possibility .
