Property group GPTled the listed property trusts
(LPT) higher, jumping 7.2 percent to A$1.94, following a
reporting season that was benign relative to investors' poor expectations for the sector.
"I wouldn't read anything into it. It's still a company that has balance sheet stress," Justin Blaess, director of property securities for ING Investment Management, said of GPT, adding he thought the aggressive buying of property stocks was overdone.
