America and the other western nations need to start doing what governments are meant to do, namely protect and look after their own people. US forces should not be in the Middle East unless it serves US interest, which it does not. I am not American but why there should be one US soldier in the Middle East is beyond me. Trump won an election because Hillary is a monster and because he was putting America (and its people) first.

This is not a western war, and it is not a war that will ever be resolved by winning and imposing democracy on a region riddled with so much tension. This war is an Israeli war, the neocons are not about American interests beyond their own special interest group. They hide behind the fact that this Iranian general was a monster, but ignore the fact that this was, ultimately, a US political failure that Iran has taken advantage of

I don't yet fully understand what Trump's long term intention is, but history tells us there will be any number of neocons looking to kick this off into yet another war with an enemy of Israel. 19 years and counting in Afghanistan.

I expect the Iranians will eventually respond, and, with that, the old despicable warmongers will get what they want.
