Blaming the drought and fires on global warming is like blaming the obesity epidemic on not eating enough food.

The opposite is true. Antarctica is getting colder, bigger and piling on more snow and ice and this is having a cooling effect on the whole southern hemisphere, see temperature chart below.


The warmists don't like this because Antarctica contains 90% of the Earth's ice and a cooling and expanding Antarctica makes it impossible for the oceans to rise, which is the main basis of their climate emergency.

They are either in denial or trying to blame the Antarctic cooling on the ozone hole or the ocean currents but the obvious cause is the Holocene ending and a new solar minimum commencing.

A cooling Antarctica makes the whole Southern hemisphere a drier place for two reasons. Cooler oceans emit less water vapor and a cold Antarctica pulls the low pressure systems closer to the South pole which means the rain bringing trade winds miss Australia.
