BGA have done a great job over the last week and weekend with supporting effected farmers.
Generators have been supplied by BGA for those farmers directly effected by power outages, however this has mucked up milking times in the outset which effected pickups..
Milk pickup has been carried out as per normal were possible however some farmers have had delays due to road closures and the power outages but this is now under control. Farmers have been compensated when they have had to dump milk.
5000t of hay is currently being stockpiled at the Bega saleyards for fire effected farmers which will be issued by the use of PID system.
The packaging plant has been shutdown for 10 days as cheese and milk is unable to be bought in from VIC as per normal due to road closures. Victorian factories will handle the milk that normally comes from Vic.
Whilst a number of farms have been effected to what extent is still being determined but the main area burnt is north of Brogo pass through to Cobargo and around Bemboka.
One must remember that the majority of BGA milk is now produced in Victoria a large area of which is outside current bushfire area as well as most of its production plants. Some milk is transported to Bega from eastern Vic which is in bushfire burnt area.

The rain is only minimal and patchy at this stage in the valley. BGA will survive this and continue to be a great Aus company, share price down today due to concerns which is fair enough, time will tell the full extent of the fires but visibilty is absolute crap so it is hard at the moment. One must remember their are three fires still impacting the valley all with potential to cause further harm especially the one south at Eden.
