    hi guys,

well obviously i DONT want to be exposed to JUST UMC's assets, as i have said time and again i hold both comapnies and have done for some considerable period of time ...

I do recall being on here talking about how cheap umcos were at .20 some 2 years back when there was just me and another two or three posters on this thread ... THX could well be a similar, albeit very different story.

i have been a buyer of both companies again in recent weeks.

It is slightly annoying that people see any discussion on thx on a umc thread as someone a slight on umc or thx or both, and a distraction from the main game ..... when the reality is that the two are inexorably intwined for now.

That will unwind soon enough; but for now there should be strong consideration of just what is going on with both comapnies and more importanly how WE can benefit from it.

Talk about owning steering wheels as opposed to ferarris, with all respect to my learned friend, misses the point.

The reality is that THX does have an instrinsic value that can be measuredday by day courtesy of the cash at hand and what the market values UMC at. There is any number of ways that THX management will be able to turn that value into money in shareholders pockets .... I would have thought it is an opportunity not to be sniffed at by either longtermers in umc or newcomers ....

The value as I see it for those seeking to add another string to their bow is diversification into a stock that has strategic value, while remaining exposed to UMC .... leverage too boot for those of us who bought the thxos cheap.
