Japan certainly has some good qualities, but are they breading sheep with little individuality?

I see on the "happiness" list, Japan is way below many poor and struggling countries.

There's more to life than being obedient and a sheep - not that I am saying that wildness is good either...

Although the happiness list is weird, as it's dominated by many of Europe's rather boring countries, where as Europe's fun countries are lower:
