indeed you are right on the money with dementia being a major issue in aged care. But Alzheimer’s is a subset of dementia. So they CAN diagnose dementia in the sense of knowing that there are a range of symptoms but they CANNOT diagnose Alzheimer’s definitively without death

the problem in aged care however is somewhat complex. The current policies encourage aging in place which means that often those going into residential aged care are those whose cognitive capacity has substantially diminished. I could go on about the consequences of that and the resulting mismatch between the ACFI models and the actual cost of care and the mismatch between the AQF and the actual skill needs of carers. these however are the reason why dementia is a major challenge in aged care - and not merely a dilemma

There are also many studies that identify factors that contribute to healthy aging as well as substantial research on prevention as well as reversal. What do you know about nicotinate?
