well there you have it. I wish I had consulted with every aged care provider across the country because at least I could accept failure as readily as you ascribe it and be wealthier for it. I see you prefer the fictions in your own mind rather than facts. No point describing the work or how we come to have a consulting business

If you read the royal commission report itself rather than the media headlines you might be aware of the complexity of the challenges. The system failures are driven as much by government policy as anything else some of which I’ve already referred to. That includes a woefully inadequate pay structure which has been built on a method of valuing jobs that has its roots in the 1950s and is reflected in funding models. Of course many of those who grizzle and gripe about the quality of the sector are loathe to change the funding model because there is a downstream impact on tax, the budget or the economy in general. So combine that with privatisation of the sector, perceptions of the industry and increasing reluctance to maintain multigenerational households and we have a problem that won’t be fixed easily.

so tell me how do you feel about immigration? Because in case you aren’t aware the sector relies heavily on immigrants to do the caring. Australians are not in general interested in doing that work.
