My first comment on this fire business of “armchair experts”
    blaming Scomo and
    climate change.
I certainly know and tell you that mowing grass down in summer makes it less fire prone and decreases the rate of spread of fire. I diligently mow /slash every year at considerable expense to minimise our fire risk on our properties- which helps minimise risk to neighbours ( some of whom DGAF)
Also I have been a volunteer firefighter and been involved in fighting large fires - one which burnt a significant part of our property and was started by an arsonist.
Windows of opportunity to do reduction burns have been shortened significantly and the “green ness” of councils has had a deleterious impact on fire risk mitigation - through policies of arbitrarily imposed green zones and anally retentive know-all bureaucratic power tripping.
(Not that it is restricted to councils and fire policies)
All Government seems to be populated by people of ideological mindsets lacking holistic experience and strategic thinking.
There certainly does seem to be a huge number of self appointed “expert” commentators on these threads that offer no more than simplistic and political “bent” .

No doubt you will label me a climate denier or some other name calling lefty crap but, I’m just calling out some of the populist BS that is posted here.
