Yes Ethereum is not a currency, but neither are shares they both however have a price and can be traded.

I don't mean to sound patronizing but you have to understand blockchain and crypto if you are going to confidently invest in AB1 or similar companies. I would suggest a reasonable knowledge of the ERC20 tokens is also important.
