In fact if you look at the ISX tax note where it reconciles accounting profit to tax expense, you will see that the r&d is SPECIFICALLY excluded(added back) to work out the tax expense, because you ARE NOT taxed on a rebate you receive.
You're digging this hole deeper for yourself.
Therefore it is absolutely and categorically CORRECT to say that R&D rebates are not a form of revenue, but rather other income. As you will see they actually amended their financial report for 31/12/18 to correct this, after they received their nice performance shares
