@kingpins. Yes mate you are correct. I am not rascist against white people. I lack a nomenclature to describe the Anglo Celtics who settled this country and instituted English/European farming and land management practices. Hell, my ancestors were mainly Scots. With the exception of my Mum's dad.

These people imposed these practices upon our ancient fragile leached down soils. These soils ar low in or lack, N P K, Molybdenum, Silenium, and a whole raft of other trace elements. Maybe that is why the aboriginal people never developed agriculture as we know it. Without artificial fertilizer, the soil in general would not allow it. There are pockets of fertile soil, I will admit, but afterone crop, the nutrients are normally depleted for years.

I think a lot of peope don't realise what the country used to look like. The huge grasslands we have now didn't exist. There were extensive forests. In the 1800s the european settlers used Steam Traction Engines to clear the scrub. Thus, huge grasslands are more prone to wildfires, which, once they reach the forests, are already too hot to stop.

BTW. You failed to mention what we in Qld have done on the Condamine with Collie Cotton. (Now Chinese owned). We have stopped a tremendous anpont or water flow into the Darling.. Absolute envioronmental vandalism.

You are correct about many white people knowing and loving this country. Read about the early Explorer Gregory, for one. But then we also had Burke and Wills, Ludwig Leichhardt, and so on. Directionally challenged Scots and thick-headed Germans. As it turned out, a lethal combination for explorers. BTW. As an Engineer I have a lot of respect for German Engineering, und ich sprechen ein paar worter auf Deutsch. I have even struck quite a few "***bas" who can track better than I. Yup! some white people have taken the time to know and get to love this country, it is not easy.

Thanks for your kind words. At last I realize I am not some alien being, wailing in the wind.

Slainte beatha....Marum Katze. (Scots Gaellic for; Good Health!)
