Another little fable of yours is an unreliable grid.
With a distributed grid containing renewables and lots of commercial storage, the grid will be more reliable, not less. The Hornsdale battery is already proving how superior large storage is in response to instant grid stability. Snowy hydro has been demonstrating for decades how well large storage can respond faster than any outdated fossil plant.
