The Hardy's Mammoth?
TBH, I am more of a fan of the basic Kalamata EVOO.
It is more neutral. I tend to buy basic ingredients, which I can then flavour it in my own way.
I buy flour to make most of the pasta I eat, I buy dried chickpeas and make my own falafel. etc.
I don't buy vinaigrettes, instead I buy the ingredients and seek out recipes.
So, I'm not a fan of ingredients that are already "biased" one way or another as that therefore limits how I can use it.
I find the Hardy's Mammoth is good with my Egyptian Dukkah, but I find that often I am happy to just stick to the basic "neutral" EVOO.
Cobram Estates makes several varieties of EVOO, but I found that the only one I would buy is the "plain" variety.
Prior to discovering Gooramadda, I was a fan of Red Island (or Pink Island). Both are nice, but neutral, flavours.
You've got me curious about the "uglies". I'll order them next time too.
