    I do have a more upbeat commodity perspective.

    I have suggested that until Oct or more likely Nov, that I don't see a pretty picture.

    However I think commodities will in fact probably hold us up longer that the US equity markets after that.

    I think the US equity markets will struggle to rally beyond Nov next year at the latest, but their initial decline may be because of our resources boom reigniting.

    In the long run, I am very fearful that our decline probably post 2011 will be very severe for a couple of years and 50% decline would be expected here.

    I don't consider myself infallible and like any good analyst am willing to reassess things every day.

    I do say that my current opinion is one that I have held for a number of years and so far nothing has happened to change my view.

    To see a better outcome would only please me as I have children and family and friends that I would wish to see better outcomes.

    Despite the comments of some that those with negative opinions are just miserable sods, I am more than happy to see the bright side, but only when the evidence is there.
