One think i have realised is that when the big boys want to the economy to go a certain way it will go a certain way, whats the saying better to be behind the man with the gun than in front of it.

After the meeting between US, Japan and EU in August whe the decsion was made to prompt up the US dollar, YEN carry trade and international markets ahve rallied while commodities have been brutally belted. It makes no sense from a fundamental point of view, why would any nation want to own US dollars when there state of affairs is disaterous ?????? Too many other macro fators at play for us lemmings to understand lets just say the PPT have the power to move markest in which ever direction they require.

In saying that FED bailing out freddie in the short term will be a positive for the US as it will provide a sense of confidence and bottom for the housing sector but how about mid term, higher taxes, more money being printed, higher inflation. Wont be long until the "Short US long commodities" phrase is back adn guess what the same peopel that profitied from the artifical oil spike, then US spike, will also be the ones profitting from the US drop

How does this effect CMR well hopefully that short US play comes sooner rather than later as commosities and base metals would be rising add to that fundamental demand from China and that's teh situation we want to be in as we ramp up production
