Whilst financials might be doing a little better lately, unfortunatly its not likely to be bear market ending.
Wall Street goes through periods of short sharp bear markets (corrections) to periods of long deep bear markets.
The last bear market lasted for 33 months. Which should usher in a period of long deep bear markets.
Currently this bear market as of the low a few months ago has fallen at a gradient of approx 3.1% per month.
Subsequent bear markets with this gradient have been:
START END MONTHS % FALL VELOCITY
Jan-06 Nov-07 22 -0.664437075 -0.030201685
Nov-19 Aug-21 21 -0.62700069 -0.029857176
Jan-73 Dec-74 23 -0.627139771 -0.027266947
Dec-68 May-70 17 -0.460710993 -0.027100647
Whilst we might get a sideways period for a bit and their will be rallies, this is shaping up to be the worst type of bear market.
Slow and deep.
