Im with you mate, i have been buying over the past 2 days.

the thing that i dont get is how come on the Merrill's annoucement they had the list of holdings in different Merrill entities?

The total is almost the same number that Geologic Resources has, but when you look at the break down around 7.8m are in Merrill International while another 1.7m are in Merrill Int (Aust). The 7.8m looks similar to the holding Taurus has.

This is my view, either the Geologic fund had their stock on Margin and have lost it all, or, Taurus held this stock on Margin with Merrill and the Merrill (Aust) is the retail arm of Merrill margin lending in Australia. So maybe Taurus lost their stock?

I suggest anyone that has AXO on Margin with Merrill give them a call tomorrow and ask if Merrill can lend out their stock to short sellers. If they say it can get it out of Merrill ASAP.

it might be an idea for someone to call these guys and ask if it is their stock that has been taken by Merrill and if it has been taken why they havent lodged a change in substantial shareholding. Anyway, i will be calling the ASX tomorrow and asking them them to investigate this as i am very upset about this.

As for Merrill, i hope the ASX comes down on them big time and the market finds out exactly what they are doing. i might also give the AFR a call as well, just to get them on to the case, if we leave it up to the company it could be 12 months before we find out what the hell is going on.

While im at it i might also send an e-mail to one of the bloomberg reporters to see if they are interested in this story.

I also suggest all shareholders either call the ASX and make a compliant or call the company. I will be drafting a letter this weekend to the management of AXO telling them to pull their finger out and get control of their share register.
