If he wants to "prove" to the voters that he's not being bent over by China then there are plenty of other deals he can deny and show how strong he is.

This one he will approve because it would be a bad outcome for all concerned if these mines had to operate separately.

CHM is not an issue as MMX have stated very clearly that there as no MATERIAL claim.

The word MATERIAL is key...that implies less than 5% of MMX's value...and I doubt it would even be that much.

Probably CHM will get nothing, but even if they get 5% that is immaterial for us (even though it would be very material for CHM).

Sino knows that so the bid should be able to go through regardless.

I agree with you though - it would be nice if the CHM issue went away. You never know...if CHM doesnt raise enough cash in their rights issue they might go to the wall pretty soon. But even if it does drag on....its not material.
