Unless is to provide employment to service station attendants , mechanics, truck drivers transporting hydrogen to service stations employed and fuel excise incomes to governments ?

Hydrogen isn't an "energy source" as such, it's a storage medium. You get energy from it but only as much as you put in, thereby serving the same functional purpose as a battery. A bet on hydrogen cars is a bet against BEVs.
