MWR never made money on the watch, if you read the FY19 report, in fact, the only two things have changed are directors' wages skyrocketing, and debt has risen.
as to the watch itself, if you read specs, it only supports 24hrs battery, imo, once some company figures out the configuration of the location app, there is no barrier to entry for competition at all.
