Hi Mich, nobody did actually say "there is no better bet", but if guess to use your anaolgy, if we knew the dealer had an Ace and we had a 16, then your right, you'd have to be crazy, but the thing is, atm we dont know who has the Ace and who has the 16. Especially with AFG. CNP we also dont know what the real value is.

That IMO is million dollar question.
