Also, the economic impact is clearly the bigger threat at this stage. The threat of losing your life is astronomically slim for the average person (SARS death toll ended up in the 100's globally) but if loss of confidence leads to an economic shock and subsequent downturn, many many millions will lose their jobs. I think it's only rational to worry more about the economic impact to us, than the health risks, given what we know so far about the virus, for example it's milder than SARS.
