However, Magellan's success is largely dependent on its funds. At a point, MFG will stop growing at the it's current rate and the SP growth will slow. Fund manages do tend to fall in and out of favour as other copy their success or they get too ambitious with their product launches. Magellan's funds theoretically have the ability to invest in companies that can or are growing faster than it.
If you were to ask me today, would I prefer to put $100k in MFG or MHH, I'd take MHH.
But it's really quite a difficult question to answer, I've had to ignore so many other factors for the sake of simplicity.
