I'll take the longevity of your post as tacit approval to update the FAR crew on my evolutionary, existential conundrum.
My poor Beagle, at the ripe age of 14, escaped during a storm and was hit by a car the day after posting. Sadly she didn't make it.
So the Jack Russell has bones, back scratches and walks all to himself, but now has to adjust to a solitary life as king of the castle. He's been snuggling up with the cats for company...
