Yeah facebook, instagram ect are all viable alternatives that the masses use. Moreover most people just use their phone, computer or cloud storage? Nothing wrong with having the photos on your computer locked away in the desktop and just use an album or like most people, have them in a gallery on your phone.

But the most important point here is the time spent on this app is minimal compared to others using the free advertiser-generated model. I personally think they'd be better off charging for the app as the actual users seem to rate it highly. And because IMO the market is small, it's better to charge for something that people really want to use.

Thousands of users per day though? Then they wouldn't have only 64k users. And they wouldn't need to dilute shareholders through a raising to buy a business to increase their reach. They would be doing well if they were acquiring 'thousands per day' on the apple store.

Their app just doesn't seem to have mass appeal and it might keep adding users but I can't see explosive growth to the point where they are making a decent profit. I think their only hope is to be bought out themselves as a little niche play for a business like facebook.
