Decobar65, I was lucky and got an appointment on this Monday 3/2 with Dr Ameer Ibrahim (the Roosters sportsmed doctor) in Macquarie St City. Normally only a 2 week wait.

A referral is preferred, but apparently not essential. MRI's and a report, I already have.

I am particularly curious about this type of treatment, as for me, patellar- femoral arthritis isn't nearly as bad as friends with tibial forms. You do however get painful lesions on the femoral head/groove (due to misalignment of the patellar and how it tracks in the groove, wearing away one side), but I have reasonable weight bearing function, as there is reasonable meniscus in that tibial area.
iPPS treatment should help with my lesions and slow down further deterioration in the middle of my knee.
Cortisone is an ok pain killer, but the lesions flare up again with even slightly above average use and the treatment wears off considerably after a few months (not to mention it isn't good for cartilage). Hyaluronic acid had zero effect.

The goal obviously is to avoid knee replacement or postpone for many years. Hopefully if this treatment is as good as early results indicate, then one day I will buy some gold knees.
