Thanks for the summary but all of that is well known and nothing new.
Contrary to what you imply though, some of the mines you mention have come under what I will term, "green media criticism". But for sure, MTN has been the lightning rod lately.
Most of the mines I have ever known have attracted tourists and visitors on a scale that PR people have to be put on to show them around.

IMHO a mine at Mt Gee will not have a significant adverse effect on anything, could be a shining example of modern mining and will contribute to the economy and welfare of the region and State. Arkaroola will still be there.
Without mining there would be many thousands more unemployed fathers in this country and that is really harmful to society.
