Ha ha. Yeah 50-60 million years ago both NZ and Tas were joined to Victoria. Their Sourh Isle Briwn coal is similar to that in SA and WA at around 25-40% moist not like Latrobe at 65 and Bacchus at 55-60.

Mate if you park your car in one of thise towns like Greymouth or Invercargill overnight in winter when you get up your car is covered with white stuff. At first you think it’s ice but when you go to scrape it off you realise it’s coal ash.

Around Greymouth occasionally a guy or two will disappear only to be found months later in some little hole in the mountains they were digging coal and either it fell on them or the gas got em.
