‘...He also lamented the greed of those who wish to make a fast profit through the opportunities given to them.
According to him, such abuses are obstructing the government’s vision and policies to bridge the economic gap....’

Well, I do wonder about the motives of those who’ve done their best to make Lynas operations as difficult and as expensive as possible, despite the company carefully observing every Regulation imposed, meeting and passing EVERY new impost, passing every one of many capricious Ministry-imposed ‘Reviews’ - the last of which Minister Yeo stupidly tried to have LED by those who had previously sued Lynas in court several times and always lost - and now demanding that Lynas stop all of its research that had previously proven that its residue could be safely used! Now the company is required to outlay about A$130 million to pay a local company to transport and store residue that is completely benign world-wide, except under Malaysia’s unique law - that only Lynas appears to be subject to, and despite many more radioactive substances stored throughout the country being completely ignored.

As a lifelong supporter of Malaysian development whose daughter was born in Penang when I worked there, I’m pretty fed up with the treatment meted out to Lynas Malaysia and its 97% Malaysian highly skilled and dedicated employees.
