I find it very easy for many to criticse from there armchairs as to what shouldnt of happened. Whether what happens is right is always subject to hindsight and the ability to critisce. Remember, woomera was not the first point of call it was used after the wave of illegal queue jumping perosns of dubious character filled the WA holding centres.

What was the government to do, let all and sundry enter the country with no vetting at the expense of those poor souls who did the right thing and sought asluym through the proper channels.

This is what happened in the US when castro decided to let all those in the prisons and asluyms free passage to the US. This created unbeleivable crime spree and major drug problems in maimi.

I dont agree with dentention, but then I dont agree that queue jumpers should get preferential treatment. A very heard problem to resolve.

However, the good thing to come out of this is that Australian aint seen as a soft target as is Europe and the problem it is having to deal with the high percentages of illegal immigrants on their society.

I feel sorry for all refugees, my grandfather was a refugee, having spent 5 years in a camp in turkey after the WW2, but he was relocated by the Red Cross properly and orderly.

We ned to start looking at resolve the reason for refugees and solve those first.

and as to the Aboriginal situation, any suggestions on what to do to stop men in the communities doing what they are doing to their own children. But for you armchair critics, it does matter unless you can score a points in some politically movitated attack.
