'Very strong blow' in this context means getting a fairly decent pressure reading. Not too high if u compare with gas bearing sands.
A DST is performed by isolating a section of the well or simply put zone of interest.
In the ongoing DST, the test intvl is 30m (ie 978-1008m).
As u can see from the mudlog on page 2 of the ann'mnt, there is abundant Coal with interbedded carbonaceous siltstone, justified by the gas peaks & faster ROP curves.
After drilling, this coal section would b fractured to liberate the trapped gas. This is accompanied by a period of dewatering & then the normal release of gas. The important thing is, coal here is highly permeable & very thick, which is good news for any CSG explorer.
As I had mentioned in my last post few days back, coal doesnt have high pressure to justify reporting flow results. Most coal seam gas fields are developed post-drilling. U can chk out AOE's website to see the movie on a gas flow.
